The Brief (Challenge)

The core strategic challenge was to introduce the brands into the hermetic and authenticity-sensitive environment of League of Legends (LoL) players. The project required a careful approach to avoid the "cringe" effect often associated with mass-market campaigns targeting this demographic. The goal was to break the mold of standard contests and design a mechanism that turns the sauce purchasing process into a natural element of the gameplay experience.

Viramity in Action (The Solution)

We leveraged the flexibility of the Viramity engine to build an advanced "Gamer-Native" system, fully tailored to the LoL ecosystem:

  • Gamified Interface (LoL UX): We designed the platform's front-end (landing page) to visually and functionally mimic the League of Legends game interface. This UX approach increased user trust and ensured full immersion from the very first interaction.
  • Dedicated Server Infrastructure: As part of the solution, we linked the contest mechanics directly with game systems via a dedicated "Żabka" LoL server. This enabled a unique integration between the retail world and the actual gaming environment.
  • Instant-Reward System (Lootboxes): We moved away from traditional draws in favor of a "lootbox" mechanic. This reward distribution model is natural and intuitive for gamers, providing instant gratification upon completing a “quest”.

Proven Impact

Through deep technological personalization for a specific digital subculture, the "Grill on the Rift" activation achieved a high level of authenticity:

  • Seamless Adoption: Utilizing an interface that mimics the game resulted in exceptionally rapid platform adoption by users.
  • Effective Sales Activation: Turning the purchase of Heinz sauce at Żabka into a "quest" element translated into a measurable increase in product rotation while building positive brand sentiment.
  • Gaming Category Benchmark: The project proved that the Viramity engine can handle not only standard mass-market activations but also highly specialized deployments that integrate with external gaming ecosystems.
